DECREE No 4E/2024
to all Rectors, Choir Conductors and Singers of the parishes in our Diocese
In accordance with the Decree received from His Eminence, our First Hierarch, Metropolitan Nicholas, we hereby inform all the rectors, choir conductors and singers of our Diocese that the Liturgical Music Commission of the Synod of Bishops is convening the 31st Annual Russian Orthodox Church Music Conference. This conference will take place from the 2nd – 6th of October 2024 at Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Los Angeles, California.
The theme of the conference is: “Towards the Future of Orthodox Liturgical Chant: Pathways in Practical Application”. All rectors and choir conductors are directed ot disseminate the information (www.rocmconference.org) about the upcoming conference among all the singers of the Diocese, without delay. It is recommended that a minimum of one delegate from each parish is sent to the Conference and, if at all possible, at least partially supported financially. Hotel registration must be completed by 25 September.
We firmly believe that the participants, of the upcoming conference will return with renewed strength and continue to benefit their parishes. The Reverend Deans are to have the parishes of their deaneries represented at the Conference.
This Decree is to be read from the ambo upon receipt after the nearest Sunday Liturgy. May God bless all those who toil in the realm of liturgical singing.
